jr NTR engagement with Lakshmi Praneeta

The betrothal ceremony of Jr NTR and Lakshmi Praneeta was held today, the 1st April, 2010, from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM at Lakshmi Praneeta's residence in Hyderabad. The members of Nandamuri family, Nara family as well as the Narne family attended the function. From the film industry circle SS Rajamouli, Kodali Nani, Rajeev Kanakala, VV Vinayak, Aswini Dutt, Mehar Ramesh and Keeravani were invited. The function was held with a tight security.

Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nara Chandrababu Naidu and state minister Bhatti Vikramarka along with his family members were the prominent figures. However Lakshmi Parvathy was not invited for the betrothal function. The wedding date has been fixed as May 9th.

Varudu movie review

It's About
Gunasekhar's new so-called imaginative after his previous visionary disaster with Mahesh Babu.

Plot
Sandeep (Allu Arjun) is a Gen X Hyderabadi. Sandeep's parents had a love marriage.After an horrendous entrance by the stylish star and a few scenes which I believe were written on the sets on the day of the shoot, the film goes on to the partwherein Sandeep's parents ask him about whom he wants to marry.

To their shock he tells them that he wants his marriage to be an arranged one and wants the age old 16 day marriage with all his relatives by his side. Sandeep also decides to respect the aged tradition of not looking at the bride till the very moment of marriage. However,on the day of the marriage the bride gets kidnapped by Dileep (played by Arya).
Who's Dileep, why the kidnap and how does the film end in happiness are the other boringsegments which consume the second half.

What's good
The major attraction was Arya playing a drama crazy unstable artist. The guy hadchewed away every other aspect of the film with his giant like appearance and was the
only reason which will not let you leave the movie half way through.The much hyped 5 day marriage scenes were not as good as anticipated, but, were a pretty decent watch.

What's bad
The visuals which the film clearly couldn't afford (just like the past two Gunasekhar films), long by at least 20 minutes and the loose, unpacked, terribly scripted first half of the feature.There is no comedy in the movie and music wise very poor. If Allu Arjun, Arya's presence, magnanimous camera work, mind boggling climax fight were to save the movie; the low pitched narration, lack of depth, missing comedy and poor script have done the needless damage

Performances
Allu Arjun has brought lot of energy to the character. But it lacks the typical Allu Arjun flavor which the audience felt missing. I think his he needs to further improve on his dialogue delivery in action sequences and emotional scenes.

Debutant Bhanu Mehra plays the female lead. Her identity has not been revealed all these days, but she does a decent job. There's no great scope for performance in her character. Perhaps, Gunasekhar should have given her more importance.

Arya has done very well. His power packed body is gelling well that of Allu Arjun during action sequences. He does a very good job playing against the main lead and does it effortlessly.

Brahmanandam's character is of no use. I wonder why he's doing such roles. Ahuti Prasad did not fit the character of a strong villain.

Ashish Vidyarthi, Suhasini, Naresh, Sayaji Shinde, Nasser were all ok, as their characters does not have much to offer. Yesteryear director Singeetam Sreenivasa Rao was adequate.

Mani Sharma's music is alright. The background music is good in parts. Stunt Siva's action choreography is first-class, but the editor Anthony should have done a better job, especially in the second half. The film is visually appealing and the DI and CG work is good in songs.

Verdict:
It's a sincere attempt to reinforce the concept of a traditional 5 day marriage, but unfortunately, the film does not go well with the modern love marriage formula.

Sania Mirza marriage with Shoaib Malik

It is well aware that tennis star Sania Mirza broke up with her fiancé Sohrab Mirza only because she wanted to continue in tennis. Now according to Pakistan news channel Geo TV, Sania and the former Pakistan cricket caption Shoaib Malik were in love for more than six months. They have also got engaged and are likely to get married this April. After the wedding, the 'Walima' meaning reception will be organized at Lahore. Latest reports also say that Sania and her parents applied for visa for Pakistan.

Trisha cheers at the IPL Match - IPL T20 Cricket Season 3

The very thrilling IPL match between the Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab would be worth remembering for sometime. The match did not only have nail biting end but also had a heavy dose of glamour quotient. While Bollywood star Preity Zinta would be cheering for her team Kings XI Punjab during all the matches they partake, it was pleasant surprise for the Chennai Super Kings team to see Trisha cheering for them.

Trisha was seen along with a host of friends thoroughly enjoying every moment of the match.
